Sesham Mike-il Fathima (transl. Next, Fathima on mic) is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film written and directed by Manu C. Kumar in his directorial debut. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in the title role. The film was officially announced in September 2022. Principal photography began in the same month and wrapped up in November 2022. The music was composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab. The cinematography and editing were handled by Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran and Kiran Das.Sesham Mike-il Fathima was released on 17 November 2023 to mixed reviews from critics.Fathima Noorjahan is a young woman from an orthodox Muslim family in Malappuram district who desires to become a football commentator. Since childhood, she has been interested in giving live commentary for football matches and cartoons. She has experience giving commentary on local football matches. Though Fathima joins BSc Biochemistry, she aspires to do commentary at the IFL. But she doesn’t get any support from her family members, who are more interested in finding an alliance for her. She faces challenges on her journey to become a football commentator and realizes that it is a male-dominated field. Remya, Fathima’s friend and a journalist, helps her on the journey. Will Fathima achieve her dream of becoming a commentator at the IFL matches forms the rest of the story.The film marks the directorial debut of Manu C. Kumar, who was a former journalist.[3] He wrote the story of the film during 2017–18 and told it to Kalyani Priyadarshan in 2019 when she was acting in Varane Avashyamund (2020).[4] Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy jointly produced the film under the banners of Passion Studios and The Route.[5] Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran and Kiran Das were assigned as the cinematographer and editor, respectively.[6]
