StoryLine:

Major is a 2022 Indian biographical action drama film directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies. Filmed simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages, the film follows the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Adivi Sesh (in his Hindi film debut) plays the title character, in addition to writing the script. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Anish Kuruvilla.Principal photography began in February 2020 and ended in December 2021. Filming experienced delays owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was shot in 120 days and was filmed in over 75 locations.Major had limited theatrical release on 24 May 2022 in selected cities across India and it was released across worldwide on 3 June 2022.Major portrays the life of Indian Army’s Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan: Sandeep was born to ISRO officer K. Unnikrishnan Nair and Dhanalakshmi in Bangalore, where they had moved from Cheruvannur, Kozhikode District in the state of Kerala. Sandeep spent 14 years at Frank Anthony Public School, Bangalore before graduating in the ISC Science stream. His childhood dream was to join the Indian Army. Though Sandeep’s parents are disappointed by his career plans, They allow him to pursue this dream when they realize his seriousness about serving the nation.In 1995, Sandeep joined the NDA, Pune, Maharashtra. He was a part of the Oscar Squadron (No. 4 Battalion) and a graduate of the 94th Course NDA. In IMA, Dehradun, Sandeep was the part of 104th regular course. On 12th June 1999, he graduated from IMA and got commissioned as Lieutenant in the 7th Battalion of the Bihar Regiment (Infantry) of the army. During 1999 to 2007, Sandeep rises to the ranks and quickly becomes NSG commando and gets promoted as the trainer of commandos where he also gets married to his childhood buddy Isha.
