Maha Samudram (transl. Great Ocean) is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language romantic action drama film[2][3] written and directed by Ajay Bhupathi. It is produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments. It stars Sharwanand, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Anu Emmanuel. The music is composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj. The film is set in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The film released on 14 October 2021.Two men in Vizag are steadfast friends since years but what happens when one of them is forced out of the city and the other takes the responsibility of his mistakes.In 2019, Ajay Bhupati confirmed the film with Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the lead.[11] However, in early 2020, the bilingual film starring Sharwanand and Siddharth is announced. In October 2020, Aditi Rao Hydari and Anu Emmanuel were cast in the film.[13][14] Chaitan Bharadwaj who previously composed music for the films such as RX 100 (2018) and SR Kalyanamandapam (2021), was signed for film’s soundtrack. After Jabardasth (2013), Siddharth made a straight comeback to Telugu cinema after 8 years.[15][16] The film was originially intended to be shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages.[17][18] However, the Tamil version was subsequently dropped in favor of a dubbed release.The principal photography of the film began on 7 December 2020[20] and wrapped up on 9 July 2021. Ajay Bhupathi managed to leave movie buffs surprised and shut down naysayers when his debut film RX 100 made waves in 2018. Especially so, because the film made Ajay and the film’s leads Kartikeya and Payal Rajput famous overnight. Come 2021, expectations were high on his sophomore film that did not just promise a unique story but also marked the comeback of Siddharth to Telugu cinema. Which is why it’s a shame that Maha Samudram falters to stand out.
