Palthu Janwar (transl. Domestic Animal) is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by debutante Sangeeth P. Rajan starring Basil Joseph in lead role and Indrans, Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan and Shammy Thilakan in supporting roles.[2] The film is produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banner Bhavana Studios. Directed by debutante Sangeeth P. Rajan, the film is produced by renowned actor Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banner Bhavana Studios.The film was announced in July 2022 where Basil shared the first look of the film on social media after playing the lead actor in Jan.E.Man, following which the makers released the song. Palthu Janwar’s teaser was released in August 2022 and the film released in theatres in September 2, 2022.Palthu Janwar received mixed reviews, however, the film made over Rs. 10 crores from the box office collection, which was more than the amount spent to make it. Fans who missed watching the film on silver screen can now watch Palthu Janwar on Disney+ Hotstar from October 13th.Featuring Basil Joseph as Prasoon, the movie follows his journey at a new government job which he pursues despite his interest. An animator by passion and profession, Prasoon gets the job of a livestock inspector and is posted in a village. This professional switch doesn’t suit the young lad who aims to be creative and hopes to make it big one day, however, with his failed animation venture, he has no other option but to take this job and make an earning than living with embarrassment and self-loathing. What follows are events packed with joy and emotions revolving around the happenings that he experiences for the first time at his workplace.
