Chhalaang is a hilarious, yet inspirational journey of Montu, a PT Master from a semi govt. funded school for whom teaching PT is just a job. When circumstances put everything he cares for at stake, including Neelu who he loves, Montu is forced to do what he’s never done- TEACH. Through his journey, the film humorously addresses the value of Sports Education in school curriculum.\

Mahender Singh Hooda, aka Montu, lives with his father, Kamlesh Singh Hooda, His Mother and his younger brother. He is a happy go lucky small physical training instructor (PTI) he is inadvertently attracted to the new computer teacher, Neelima “Neelu” Mehra. He faces competition from a new senior PTI, Inder Mohan Singh, who excels where Montu performs weakly. However, when Montu and Inder have an argument, they decide to settle their dispute by pitting their teams against one another. But, Montu’s Younger brother Monty is in Singh’s Team. In the end, Montu’s Team wins, and Singh and Montu agree to work side by side and Neelima approves the relationship between Montu and Her.

A prize is dangled before the protagonist: Nushrat Bharucha as Neelu, the new colleague whose parents Montu’s thuggish mates have harassed in a park. An obstacle is established in Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s moustachioed cricket coach, with whom Montu brawls in a sandpit. Around them, director Hansal Mehta stages a series of challenges designed to help our boy realise the man he could be if he puts in the work
