The two seasons of Rangbaaz have already set a precedent. Now in its third season, helmed by Navdeep Singh (who has NH10 and Manorama Six Feet Under to his directorial credits), there’s a political drama centered around Harun Shah Ali Baig (Vineet Kumar Singh) and charts his rise from a small-town in Bihar to becoming one of the state’s most powerful and strong men. Was it love or fear that drove him to such heights? But everything that soars high must eventually come crashing down, and this six-part series takes an in-depth look into Baig’s life journey, which is an intriguing watch.Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti Season 1 Download
This season of Sachin Pathak’s fictional show is loosely based on former politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, who served as the MP for Siwan. The series, like its previous seasons starring Saqib Saleem and Jimmy Sheirgill, revolves around another powerful character and his power game. Based on the true events, the series isn’t fast-paced; rather, it takes its own sweet time to present the story to the viewers, but the events in the protagonist’s life keep you hooked for the most part. This is not a drama suitable for fans of violence as it is more about planning and more planning minus the action.
Siddharth Mishra’s screenplay layers a story that seamlessly jumps between different timelines, from 1988 when Harun and his friend Dipesh aka Dipu (Soham Majumdar) were young, to 2010 when Harun became Saheb for the people of the town and their strong friendship is tested by their divergent viewpoints. All of this occurs against the backdrop of a political rivalry between two political leaders, Lakhan Rai (Vijay Maurya) and Mukul Kumar (Rajesh Tailang), which plays a significant role in turning the tables. But, unfortunately, every twist in the plot is predictable.
