Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling, (transl. The Scorched Forest Part I: The Kindling) is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language gangster film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, written by B. Jeyamohan and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh. The film stars Silambarasan and Siddhi Idnani, with Raadhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav and Siddique in supporting roles, the film has music composed by A. R. Rahman.Principal photography began in August 2021 and ended in April 2022. [3] A sequel is in development.Muthuveeran is a B.Sc graduate from a village named Naduvakurichi in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, where his mother Aaruthira learns about his aggressive behaviour. Fearing for Muthu’s life, Aaruthira takes Muthu and his younger sister to their uncle Chermadurai for finding him a job elsewhere. Chermadurai arranges for Muthu’s job in Chembur in Mumbai. After attending a phone call, Chermadurai is panick-stricken and gives Muthu a letter to post whatever may happen to him. The next morning, Chermadurai is found dead in his room, having attempted suicide.Instead of posting the letter, Muthu goes to the address mentioned in it where he starts to earn money for his struggling family by working in a parrotta store, which is run by Esakki and also falls in love with Paavai, who works in a clothes shop. However, Muthu doesn’t know that the Esakki is working with Gaarji, who is a gangster in Tirunelveli and his Malayali boss named Kutty Bhai. Due to circumstances, Muthu unknownigly gets drawn into the Mumbai underworld, where he is appointed as Gaarji’s bodyguard due to fallout between Gaarji and Kutty Bhai. Due to a misunderstanding, Gaarji is killed and Muthu is blamed for his death.Muthu suspects his friend Saravana and learns that he is Kutty Bhai’s henchman and was the reason behind Gaarji’s death.
