StoryLine:

The movie begins with a girl named Fei Fei being told the legend of the moon goddess who took a potion for immortality and waits for her lover the archer on the moon with only Jade Rabbit for company (“On the Moon Above”). 4 years later, Fei Fei is a bright and scientific young woman still helping in her family’s shop who still believes in Chang’e. Fei Fei is upset when she finds her father with a new woman he appears to be dating, Mrs. Zhong. Fei Fei meets and is annoyed by Mrs. Zhong’s energetic son, Chin.Fei Fei designs a rocket that resembles a Chinese paper lantern in the shape of a rabbit that uses fireworks to boost her speed. Her rocket almost succeeds until she realizes that Chin snuck aboard her rocket and they begin to crash to earth. Suddenly, the rocket is captured in a mystical beam of energy and taken to the moon.
