The Last House on the Left is a 2009 horror-thriller film that tells the story of Mari Collingwood’s parents seeking revenge on a group of strangers, led by a man named Krug, who take shelter at their home during a thunderstorm. Tony Goldwyn, Monica Potter, Garret Dillahunt, Spencer Treat Clark, Martha MacIsaac, and Sara Paxton star in the movie. The Last House on the Left 2009 Movie Download.
Rogue Pictures acquired the film rights in 2006, and the remake was the first film produced by Wes Craven’s Midnight Pictures production studio. Craven, who directed the original, was curious to see how the film would look with a large budget, as limited funds had forced him to cut scenes he wanted to include. Alleca’s original script had supernatural elements, which the studio rejected, leading to Ellsworth being brought in for a rewrite. Director Iliadis sought to avoid making the film “torture porn” due to its graphic content.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics who deemed it inferior to the 1972 film, The Last House on the Left grossed around $46 million against a $15 million budget after its release by Universal Pictures on March 13, 2009. Craven and Iliadis believed that the film showed how even normal families could be driven to evil acts when pushed too far.
