The family drama, based on a Procheta Gupta story, stars Sreelekha Mitra and Badshah Moitra in the lead. Produced by Team Spirit, the script of ‘Sudakshina’ is by Padmanava Dasgupta.
Married to Prateek, a bright and upwardly man, at the tender age of 20, Sudakshina developed a passion for collecting sarees to keep herself from drowning in the monotony of everyday routine. Prateek and his family, soon started getting offended by her obsession for sarees and made it the butt of all ridicule, but Sudakshina’s love was resolute. A sudden encounter with an old friend, Anirban, brought the ambitious Sudakshina alive in her again, and twists and turns led her to write a story of an astounding achievement that inspired all.Also, Sudakshina’s obsession with sarees very strangely helps her son, husband and her sister-in-law to achieve their personal goals too. This is a story that talks of a mundane housewife’s growth and achievement within her own premise.

The idea of possessing sarees of all kinds elucidates Sudakshina. Although she has two wardrobes full of such satin, she still ventures virgin areas of an unknown jungle only to get a glimpse of the village, to know the story of underprivileged women who earn a living by selling sarees at a loss.Every member of the family shames her for her obsession. While some do it unintentionally, the sly mother-in-law adopts a new hobby to harass Sudakshina when she gets the chance to do so. She remains adamant about her demands for rich, homemade cuisines while being well-aware of the fact that Sudakshina is a busy woman, who helps around the household.
