“The writers who inspire our eal life through the power of their pen are like fire igniting our Soul. One such writer in Bengali literature is Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. I was honored to do the film ‘Datta’ which was one of his masterpieces in the history of literature. Today in his 146th birth anniversary, I share this treasured memory once again,” Rituparna said while speaking about the film. The actress had earlier said that after being offered the role, she read the novel once again and was struck by the character Bijoya who was ahead of her times in many ways.
