Before Merise Merise hit screens, the makers banked on the fact that the film comes from a team that worked on Pelli Choopulu. While the same team delivered a hit that went on to win a National Award, they struggle to tell a unique tale this time around.Merise Merise 2021 Full Movie Download
Siddhu (Dinesh Tej) is a 25-year-old brat who lives in Bengaluru and is nursing wounds from a failed start-up. He shifts to Hyderabad to switch things up. Vennela (Shewata Avasthi) is a budding fashion designer who is engaged to a rich, dowry-taking, toxic NRI doctor who doesn’t believe in women succeeding in their careers. When Vennela is in a hurry to achieve her dreams before tying the knot, she meets Siddhu, who can help her achieve them. Though reluctant, the latter agrees to help her set up her business for some pocket money. Soon chemistry develops between the two, but what will this lead to.Sounds familiar? That’s because the plot is pretty similar to Pelli Choopulu. The first half of the film stays true to the story, the humour is snigger-worthy and works in parts. There are truly some interesting scenes in the film that make the proceedings a delight. But where it gets confusing is when orthodox Vennela lets Siddhu get away with things her character should find abhor able. It’s the second half of the film where things go haywire and the actual drag begins. Siddhu slowly discovers what he wants from life thanks to Vennela and her boutique. The romantic scenes are well-written but the film tests patience till pre-climax. The dialogues too work well for the film.Shwetha Avasthi delivered a decent performance and looks stunning. She keeps the audience hooked even through boring scenes. Dinesh Tej is decent but has scope for improvement. He has however done a better job than he did in his previous film Hushaaru. Karthik Kodagondla’s music and BGM deserve a special mention.
