Interessante Doku über die Kampfsportlegende Bruce Lee. Da sind einige Dinge enthalten, von denen ich bislang nichts wusste. Die Doku ist zwar von 1984, kommt aber richtig zeitlos rüber.Bruce Lee: The Legend 1984
This documentary has many interesting insights to find out about Bruce Lee’s life and youth, though disappointingly little about the production of most of his martial arts films and the last act which feels exploitative. It is heavily disrespectful to see so much footage from his funeral and even his corpse. Not to mention the commercial for the ’78 Game of Death film that follows in which many who are involved don’t seem to be fans of Lee’s work. Overall, this isn’t the great sendoff or even a respectful tribute to the actor that one would expect coming from Golden Harvest, the studio whose name the actor launched.
First Screening. Amazon Prime. An almost shameful documentary that uses staged interviews and useless outtakes to exploit Lee’s image. Not edited well and scored even worse. It’s like they didn’t even try.
The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.
-Bruce Lee
A double-edged sword of a documentary. It will only interest people who are already fans of Bruce Lee, but by the end of the film, it will also make them uneasy in what they just watched as the true nature of why this film was made will become clearly evident. Promoted as the Official Golden Harvest Tribute to Bruce Lee, it ends up being more of a 1977 promotional stunt for a certain upcoming movie.
